Spring FAVES :)

I was worried with the increase of temperature last week that I might have missed my chance to do a spring favorites post- but the spring roller coaster of the east coast wasn’t done yet with temps back into the 50’s this week. This makes it really hard to pick out clothes and keep flowers alive! #greenthumb?

Pictured here is my most recent flowers *fingers crossed* and my new coaster provided by my March OwlCrate box ❤

Here is just a sampling of things I’ve loved this Spring!

Burt's Bees Brightening Even-Tone Moisturizing Cream, 1.8 oz
MOISTURIZER:
Burt’s Bees Face Brightening moisturizer (w/ daisy extract) oooOooh 🙂

Pixi Glow Tonic 3.4 Fl Oz

PIXIE GLOW TONIC

(I’ve heard a few good reviews of this so I thought I’d give it a go… I’m only a few days into a routine so we’ll see)

CLOTHING OBSESSION:

American Eagle Soft & Sexy Tees

I literally have 4 of these tees in different patterns that I wear as often as possible. I cannot even describe how soft and comfortable they are- and very flattering. Sometimes I even fancy it up with my bauble necklace to get away with wearing it at work. hehe

Candles!

I know this seems odd for warmer weather but its nice to have fresh smells and a warm glow for the more cloudy days. Plus I needed seasonal scents appropriate for spring/summer: From left to right is Signature Soy Beach House, Bloom and Prosper Summer Breeze, and Target ($ section) frosted pineapple. 🙂

Also, I go through phases of coloring to clear my mind so I’ve collected quite a few coloring books. These are my current faves because I they aren’t SO detailed that it’s impossible to enjoy. Also the one on the right has devotionals on every other page so that’s a nice addition. ❤

On a similar note, I have been putting more effort into revitalizing my daily life by trying to get out and about more which resulted in using my handy dandy LIBRARY CARD!! ❤ I know that seems odd but I haven’t ever actually had my own card so it’s nice to be able to get books at my leisure! 🙂

My newest series of interest is THE LUNAR CHRONICLES   *ooOoohhh*

I was hesitant at first because I thought is sounded a bit cheesy as a “sci-fi fairy tale” but it’s actually pretty engaging. I just finished Cinder and I like it enough to continue so I think that’s a good sign!

My second book recommendation comes from deep within my history nerdiness:

If you like female empowerment from the civil war era than look no further! haha

Also this is random but I can’t deny that I spend most of my time watching TV… Here are a few of my most recent  Netflix faves that have crossed my channel!

Series: Cheers (Finally finished this 11 season sitcom my parents used to watch)

Drama\History: The Butler (ugh so emotional)

Sitcom: Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (they’re alive dammit! Season 2 baby!)

Animation: Hotel Transylvania 2 ( I know it seems lame but it was goooood)

Documentary: I Know That Voice! (So much nostalgia and awesomeness from your favorite voice actors)

Well, that’s all folks! hehe

Make-up Makeover!

Lately I have been uninspired by my make-up look and I set off to find some products that could make me feel revitalized for the spring/summer.

I really wanted to find a shade that worked for my face because I truly think that its one of the hardest things for women.#firstworldproblems…

SO i went a little overboard with foundations in order to find the right shade and consistency and wanted to give myself options… also I’m indecisive so I would have regretted only getting one of them if it didn’t work out.

anywaysss…

Primer: Hard Candy Lift and Firm

This was more because I was running out of my current primer and thought I’d like to try something new 🙂

Foundations:

  • Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous fresh complexion
  • Maybelline dream liquid mousse airbrush finish
  • Revlon Photoready fresh effect

I was trying to find something that had the same dewey effect as my past foundations with medium coverage but I was a little disappointed that the first two had a much lighter coverage than I expected and also set a little darker than they looked (better for summer tan me). The last one seems like it will dry the right shade but is a lot more runny than I thought it would be and so probably won’t have the coverage I’m looking for. I know that’s what concealer is for but I find that it only makes my break outs more frequent and severe. So I try to make up for my lack of concealer with a strong yet not cakey foundation. So far these products are worth their price and will give me more options but not exactly what I was hoping for so the search continues…

Bronzer/Highlighters:

I’m really excited to use these more often to brighten my face and give it some depth because I’m kinda getting tired of my go to bronze and blush is not my best look #clown

  • Maybelline master hi-light
  • L’oreal True Match lumi

It’s Friday!!

It's Friday!!

It’s Friday, Friday, gotta get down on Friday! ((Sorry)) i’ll stop. haha I’m just so excited because after this weekend, I only have one hell of a half week left until Break!!!! (for EASTER of course) 🙂 I’m just so excited to go home and see my family and prepare for the final weeks of school. 28 days left of JUNIOR YEAR BABY! haha oh boy, *cue anxiety*
But mostly I’m just excited because as soon as this craziness is over, I will be able to enjoy the rest of my MAY, my favoritest month, in peace and then back to SUMMAH CAMP! I love and miss them ❤

IN IT TO WIN IT

It’s that time of year again!!! I don’t know much about basketball but I love the sweet feeling of victory when I have the right picks! So I did a little research and stuck to my gut. I won’t reveal who I chose as National Champion for the sake of suspense but here’s a sneak peek of my bracket:

FINAL FOUR: Florida, Villanova, Louisville, Creighton

*If you think I’m totally crazy you’re probably right, but let me just inform you that last year I won the bracket within my family by one point; see if that changes your mind 😉
Anyway, may the odds be ever in my favor!

March weather madness

In my best weather lady impression: It looks like we may remain in the 50’s this next week which is a great sign for SPRING FINALLY MAKING ITS WAY DOWNTOWN except for freaking Monday who didn’t get the memo with some snow showers expected. Like what? c’mon.

It is a beautiful Saturday and I wish could go full hipster and just sit around campus with an iced coffee but I can’t even really enjoy it because I’m stuck inside writing lesson plans. :/

Also, how did St. Patrick’s day (which is not until Monday, may I remind you) become a sad excuse to get white girl wasted all weekend… #werkit #kissmeImIrish #UpAllNight2GetLucky

But seriously, why are ya wearing various shades of green sequined sparkly tops and cut off shorts, it’s not THAT warm. put on a jacket for St. Patty’s sake.
