My first ever Owlcrate came today!! I was so glad when I came off the waiting list and was asked if I’d still like to subscribe so needless to say, I’ve been looking forward to this package ever since that email last month. Owlcrate a monthly subscription box full of little things for book nerds and it also features a new book related to the month’s theme. September’s theme was Leading Ladies and my box included the YA book Dumplin’ by Julie Murphy and some swag related to Divergent, Hunger Games, and Harry Potter. What else can you ask for? #worthit
The Big Reveal! ❤
I can’t wait to find out next month’s theme!
I haven’t posted in a while mostly because I haven’t been inspired to write anything lately as well as the madness of finishing up the semester and properly enjoying the holidays. But now that its officially 2015 I am ready to turn a new page and hope to post more regularly for my handful of followers. x When I consider the new year, of course I am tempted to make resolutions and promises to myself of changes I will make but I know I will inevitably fall short of my own expectations because I mean really… Has one day really made that much a difference? Probably not. I don’t feel much different than I did yesterday…
But I do feel inspired. And I guess that’s all that really matters. No I probably won’t exercise everyday or be super organized, never procrastinate or stress, or completely rid myself of a boring wardrobe or the negative influences in my life but I will try my best. I will try to look forward with a positive attitude, with grace and drive. To make a difference or at least do something a little different. I begin the new year, keeping in mind a mantra that I have adapted from an Amy Poehler quote: I want to be someone who does things. I don’t want to be someone anymore who judges or talks about what people do. I want to be someone and be around people who dream and support and do things…
And whether or not I accomplish everything I set out to or I make mistakes along the way, I must remember to cherish these moments and take them in stride because these times too will pass and one day I’ll look back and think, “I made it through”.
As a future educator, advocacy is an important factor I must consider in empowering all of my students.
Inclusion of children with special needs and disabilities begins with adults who are respectful of all children’s rights to belong and participate fully in early care and education settings. All children have the right to dignity and respect and not to be judged by their special needs or disability. To ensure this right of respect, I will use People First Language.

Today was Relay for Life in my community and it is one of the days I look forward to all year! This year, it was beautiful out and I walked five miles of laps around the track.
Peace. Love. Hope. Relay 2014.
It’s Friday, Friday, gotta get down on Friday! ((Sorry)) i’ll stop. haha I’m just so excited because after this weekend, I only have one hell of a half week left until Break!!!! (for EASTER of course) 🙂 I’m just so excited to go home and see my family and prepare for the final weeks of school. 28 days left of JUNIOR YEAR BABY! haha oh boy, *cue anxiety*
But mostly I’m just excited because as soon as this craziness is over, I will be able to enjoy the rest of my MAY, my favoritest month, in peace and then back to SUMMAH CAMP! I love and miss them ❤
It is the start of a whole new year and although I’d like to claim that it means a whole new me, I know that is not realistic and I’m all about keeping it real. But I have to admit it is one of the best feelings in the world knowing that the new year brings a symbolic fresh start and you can make this year anything you want it to be. With that in mind I started to compile a list of other things that give the best warm fuzzies. (I like lists). Of course there are plenty but I will supply you with the best ones that I could come up with at two in the morning.
1. cute puppies/babies
2. more than 10 likes on your profile pic/ selfie (this is a large # when considering my # of FB Friends, i promise)
3. the tightness in your face after you thoroughly cleanse it.
4. the warm shiver when you are sun-bathing
5. a clearance rack with cute clothes actually in your size (keep dreaming)
6. little kids that tell you you’re pretty
7. watching an animated movie meant for children that you inexplicably and shamelessly love. (ICE AGE 4, anybody…. anybody?)
8. everything New Girl
9. Jennifer Lawrence. period.
10. being able to write anything you want on a blog b/c you know nobody is actually reading it.
